From going to high school in the Caribbean to starting her career in marketing and advertising sales, designer Brandi Norris has used her cultural and business experiences to help provide solutions for her diverse clients.

“I like knowing that I have that business background to better help [customers],” said Norris, the owner of 737 Designs. “I’m not just a decorator.”

As a design consultant, contractor and project manager, Norris works with residential and commercial customers, as well as builders and Realtors, to provide design, remodeling, staging and contracting services. Norris is also an ambassador the Leander Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center.

Prior to starting her own business, Norris set aside her creative tendencies to develop skills in math and statistics needed for her first several jobs, which included advertising sales, managing an office for Telemundo and researching target markets for 3M.

“Not only my design background, but also my being able to manage an office and doing a lot of the statistical work, helped me be more well-rounded,” she said.

Last year she rebranded her company as 737 Designs, referring to the 737 area code that was assigned to the Austin area.

“I was growing my business, and Austin was growing,” said Norris, who is also targeting more potential commercial customers.

“She has a gift for putting stuff together that I would never [think of],” customer Denise Aziz said. “[My house] looked so pulled together,” she said.

Aziz, who redecorated her Cedar Park home, said her property sold six days after it was listed earlier this year after Norris’ help.

“What I love most about my job is that no project is the same,” said Norris, who said she believes listening to clients before developing custom solutions is key to her success.
