In mid-September, Austin Community College spokeswoman Alexis Patterson Hanes said construction of the ACC Hays campus in Kyle was about 90 percent complete.

Workers have finished the exterior of the 88,300-square-foot building, and they will move furniture into the facility in November and December, she added. They are also installing landscape features and volleyball courts at the 96-acre campus.

Approved by Hays CISD voters in 2010, ACC Hays is scheduled to open in January at the intersection of Kohler’s Crossing and FM 1626. The college aims to enroll 1,500 students in its first semester.
