In recognition of February's national designation as Heart Awareness Month, Lakeway Regional Medical Center is sponsoring a free educational seminar, "Age-related effects on the cardiovascular system," from 6–8 p.m. Feb. 12 in the lobby's lower level, 100 Medical Parkway, Lakeway.

As part of LRMC's monthly series, Dr. Sachin Mehta and Dr. Eric Frischhertz of Capital Cardiovascular Specialists will discuss how blocked arteries affect the body as well as methods to identify, prevent and treat these issues in aging individuals.

Both physicians are certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. Mehta earned an additional certification in adult echocardiography, and specializes in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular disease. Frischhertz is certified in nuclear cardiology, and focuses his practice on advanced diagnostic testing and assessment of the heart and vascular system.
