Tomball Emergency Assistance Ministries is asking residents to donate nonperishable food items to help support neighbors in need during the coronavirus pandemic. According to an April 2 news release, TEAM does not anticipate receiving another delivery from the Houston Food Bank in the near term, causing community support to be essential for continuing to fill the nonprofit's food pantry.
TEAM has changed its food pantry hours from twice weekly to Tuesdays only from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to the release, citing long hours for food pantry workers and the duration of Harris County's "Stay Home-Work Safe" order in effect until April 30.
"Several churches are planning food drives, and we are receiving small individual food donations," the release said. "Without the Houston Food Bank deliveries, we will rely on community support."
