Correction: Harris County Toll Road Authority has received $20 million for drainage improvements in Tomball from the Texas Department of Transportation, not $200 million as previously written. John Tyler, deputy director of engineering for Harris County Toll Road Authority, addressed the Greater Tomball Area Chamber of Commerce on Friday, May 4, about updated plans for the ongoing Hwy. 249 extension in Tomball. Construction began in February 2017 on HCTRA’s Phase 2, which stretches from north of FM 2920 to Spring Creek at the Harris-Montgomery county line. The Texas Department of Transportation and Montgomery County Toll Road Authority are expected to continue the tollway extension north through Montgomery and Grimes counties.
