Southwest Montgomery County chamber names Terre Albert as new president

He said the opportunity to step into the role emerged as the board prepared for its annual retreat. About a month before the meeting, he submitted his name for consideration, citing his long history with the chamber and deep involvement in the Magnolia business community.

“Community relations and having a servant heart are the most important qualities for this position,” he said. “I’ve always believed in working alongside elected officials, community leaders, and small business owners to help them thrive.”

Albert said the area’s rapid growth—particularly along FM 1488 and into emerging master-planned communities—is a central factor shaping chamber priorities. He said Magnolia and the broader southwest Montgomery County area continue to attract new businesses while maintaining a “small-town, welcoming feel” that he hopes to preserve.

Membership outreach and retention will be among his first-year goals. He plans to connect with former members, strengthen existing relationships and expand the chamber’s network to include businesses not yet engaged.

To support that effort, the chamber’s board is forming new committees, including government affairs, membership growth and membership retention—an initiative he said will increase the chamber’s visibility and support for local entrepreneurs.

“Our focus is on giving businesses the resources and connections they need to run smoothly and grow,” he said.
