UPDATED: Incumbent Todd Kana likely to be re-elected as mayor of Magnolia

With all 100 Montgomery County precincts reporting, Magnolia Mayor Todd Kana is likely to be re-elected for another term against opposing candidate and current City Council Member Jonny Williams.

With 2020 marking Kana's 10th year as mayor of Magnolia, Kana said he looks forward to another term of service for the city.

"I'm happy the people of Magnolia have decided to allow me to represent them [for] another term," Kana said. "That's all I'm here to do is help out the people of Magnolia; I’ve got no agenda–just to keep taxes lower and keep people taken care of."

Kana received 63.31%, or 573 votes, while Williams received 36.69%, or 332 votes.

Results are updated as of 11:15 p.m. and are unofficial until they are canvassed and certified by the county clerk. Under Texas election law, the clerk accepts and counts mail-in ballots postmarked by Election Day and received by Nov. 4, if they were sent from inside the U.S., or Nov. 9 if they were sent from outside the U.S.

Early voting results of the Nov. 3 general election shows incumbent Todd Kana taking an early lead against opposing candidate Jonny Williams in the race for mayor of Magnolia.

Kana received 61.96%, or 492 votes, while Williams received 38.04%, or 302 votes, according to unofficial early voting results.

As previously reported by Community Impact Newspaper, Kana first served as a City Council member in 2005 and 2007 and has served as the city's mayor since 2010, while Williams was appointed to City Council in early 2014 to fill a vacancy held by his late wife.
