A variety of different projects are underway in Tomball and Magnolia ISDs, including the construction of new schools. TISD passed a $494.46 bond package in 2021 and MISD passed a $228M bond package in 2022.
Magnolia ISD
Elementary School No. 10
Project: The new elementary school located in the Kresston development is funded by the May 2026 bond. It will have a capacity for 900 students.
Update: The rendering of the elementary school will be presented at the August 10 board meeting.
Elementary School No. 11
Project: The location of this elementary school will be based on the growth for the next two years. The facility is supposed to help offset the student population growth in the district.
Update: The cost for the facility has been determined to be a total of $57,752,993. This is slightly more than Elementary No. 10 due to the staggered openings, as well as factoring in for inflationary costs.
High School No. 3
Project: High School No. 3 will be located in the north part of the district on FM 1486. The cost of the high school is estimated at $304.7 million and will have a capacity of 2,500 students.
Update: The project is still in the early planning stage as of now.
Lyon Elementary School
Project: The elementary school is receiving accessible playground equipment as part of the special education program, as well as upgrades to facility infrastructure.
Update: The focal point of renovations is to replace fan coil units, replace four air handlers, restroom renovations, stage lights and a curtain replacement.
Magnolia High School
Project: This will include renovations and equipment updates to the facility.
Update: The specific renovation plans for Magnolia High School include, but are not limited to, restroom renovations, complete roof, mechanical upgrades, such as boiler, pumps, pipes and insulation, stage PA, wireless headset system replacement and a new instructional space addition.
Tomball ISD
Creekside Park Junior High School Addition
Project: This includes a $39 million, two-story addition to accommodate fifth graders for the 2026-27 school year.
Update: It is progressing as expected.
Tomball West High School
Project: A new high school addition to TISD.
Update: Project has been completed.
New Tomball Intermediate School site
Project: A new school campus is being constructed to replace the 60-year-old former facility near Main Street.
Update: The project is in final stages of design, with groundwork anticipated to begin this fall.
Pre-K Center No. 2
Project: This new early childhood center is designed to host 500 students to help alleviate district overcrowding.
Update: Planning stages scheduled to begin in December.
Athletic facility upgrades
Project: This includes upgrades to the old Tomball High School track and turf.
Update: THS turf and track replacement will be completed this summer. The remaining turf and track replacement projects for junior high campuses and Tomball Memorial are currently in the design and planning stage.
Multiprogram activity centers
Project: This project includes new indoor athletic facilities with turf to support TISD athletic teams.
Update: It is in the final stages of design
