1,860 acres acquired in Montgomery County for master-planned community

Around 4,000 homes are planned for Montgomery County after the residential development company Oxland Group bought nearly 1,900 acres of land, according to a July 20 press release.

What happened

Oxland Group bought 1,860 acres of land north of FM 1488 and west of Fish Creek Thoroughfare in Montgomery County, with plans to develop a master-planned community, according to the news release.

“We are thrilled to be leading the development of this beautiful property,” co-President of Oxland Group Tom Woliver said via news release. “This will be Oxland’s flagship community, and we want it to reflect Montgomery County’s heritage and support its future growth.”

What else?

Oxland Group is also planning for a new bridge and a new east-west roadway as part of the development, according to the news release.

“With this new east-west road, it will take up to 30 miles off bus routes for Montgomery ISD. That is the same for emergency vehicles, which is one of the biggest safety factors,” Montgomery County Precinct 2 Commissioner Charlie Riley said via news release. “The development Oxland will deliver will fulfill the growing need for a variety of housing options for all residents of Montgomery County.”
