DATA: Tomball, Magnolia ZIP codes see 42% increase in active coronavirus cases since July 13

Active coronavirus cases across the six ZIP codes that make up Tomball and Magnolia have increased from 384 on July 13 to 544 on July 21, according to data from Harris County Public Health and Montgomery County Public Health District.

The total number of active cases within the six ZIP codes has increased by 160% since June 28 when 209 were active cases had been confirmed, as previously reported by Community Impact Newspaper.

While confirmed cases of COVID-19 have increased in all six area ZIP codes since July 13, Magnolia ZIP code 77354 saw the greatest increase from 150 cases reported July 13 to 277 cases reported July 21—an 85% increase, according to data from Montgomery County Public Health District.

However, MCPHD did change how it reported new cases on July 15, leading to a one-time spike in numbers, as previously reported by Community Impact Newspaper.

Total recoveries across the six ZIP codes have increased from 470 as of July 13 to 651 as of July 21—a 39% increase. Meanwhile, the number of total COVID-19-related deaths in the area has remained at six.

Tomball ZIP code 77375 has the greatest number of confirmed cases with 384 as of July 21; the ZIP code is also the most populous in the Tomball and Magnolia area.
