Texas House Speaker Dennis Bonnen announced Texas House committee assignments for the 86th Legislature on Jan. 23, according to a press release. The press release said Bonnen met with House members over the past few weeks to discuss their committee preferences. “I believe these committee assignments will allow every member to represent his or her district and bring the member's individual strengths to the table, while also providing more opportunities for individual members to participate in policymaking decisions that affect all Texans," Bonnen said in the press release. House representatives from the Tomball and Magnolia areas were placed into the following committees: Cecil Bell Jr., R-Magnolia—District 3
