While work on Tamina Road improvements between FM 1488 and FM 2978 is in the final phases, there will be a slight delay before the project is fully completed, officials said.
This delay is because recently flagged sections of the roadway did not meet county paving standards, Westwood Magnolia Parkway Improvement District confirmed in its latest project update June 1.
WMPID officials explained via news release that, although structural widening of the road to alleviate daily bottlenecks is now complete, engineers have identified areas of the final concrete layer that were not ground down correctly.
The district has since commissioned an independent ride quality study so project workers can precisely map out and smooth over these sections to ensure “a compliant driving surface,” according to the update.
