A number of road projects are underway in The Woodlands area, funded by the Montgomery County road bond as well as an ongoing project from the Texas Department of Transportation. This list is not comprehensive, and details are subject to change.
Upcoming projects
1. Grogans Mill Road at North Millbend Drive intersection upgrade
Project: The project will redesign the traffic signal and intersection layout as well as replace pavement in the intersection.
Update: The design was complete and signal equipment ordered as of early May.

2. Grogans Mill Road at Grogan’s Mill Village Center signalization
Project: The project will replace the traffic signal at the entrance to Grogan’s Mill Village Center.
Update: Design is completed, and the traffic signal equipment has been ordered.

3. Rayford Road and Discovery Creek Boulevard traffic signal
Project: A traffic signal will be placed at the intersection and will add left-turn lanes in both directions on Rayford Road.
Update: Design is complete, and construction is slated to begin mid-summer.

4. Sawdust Road turn-lane extension replacement
Project: The project will extend the inside left-turn lane on eastbound Sawdust Road at I-45.
Update: The project has completed design and is scheduled to start early this summer.

5. Robinson Road widening
Project: The project is widening Robinson Road to four lanes between Oak Ridge Park Drive and Willow Creek Park.
Update: Design plans are 60% complete and right-of-way acquisition is underway, according to an early May update.

Ongoing projects
6. Hwy. 242 widening
Project: TxDOT is using the existing right of way on Hwy. 242 between FM 1488 and I-45 to widen lanes and restripe the intersections.
Update: As of the most recent information released by TxDOT, the project being carried out by Posillico Civil Inc. was 79% complete.

7. Lake Woodlands Drive asphalt shoulder replacement
Project: The project replaced the asphalt shoulders between Northshore Park and Kuykendahl Road.
Update: Construction was completed, officials said.
