The renaming aligns St. Luke’s with its parent organization, CommonSpirit Health, which was formed in 2019 through a merger of Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health. St. Luke’s became part of CommonSpirit through the merger.
Alongside the rebrand, CommonSpirit is expanding its collaboration with Baylor College of Medicine by bringing in more specialists from the college. The CommonSpirit signage at all St. Luke's Hospital campuses will be accompanied by a Baylor College of Medicine logo.

The ceremony was led by the president of St. Luke’s Hospital’s The Woodlands, Lakeside and Springwoods Village campuses, Jim Parisi. Aaron Cox, president and CEO of The Woodlands Chamber of Commerce, joined Parisi alongside several hospital staff.
“We’re making a public, visual declaration. We are part of something much larger than ourselves. CommonSpirit is more than a brand name, it’s a promise,” Parisi said. “It presents our collective commitment to health equity, the healing power of humanity and to the ministry that spans the entire country.”
