Montgomery County commissioners unanimously approved to support the creation of a new court at law during a Jan. 26 meeting. The new court will bring the county's total to six once it is officially created by the Texas Legislature.
This follows a presentation during a Jan. 12 meeting in which Chad Peace, Montgomery County Office of Court Administration director, spoke on the need for a new court at law.
Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack said the new court will be created and funded by January 2023.
"It was favorable to everybody, and it gives us time to come up with funding for the budget," Noack said.
