Mexican restaurant franchise Berryhill Baja Grill dismissed rumors of its Market Street location closing May 21.
According to representatives of the Berryhill Baja Grill press team, a former team member posted released a false statement to a social media account not associated with the company.
"It deeply saddens us that we've been put in this position where things are being falsely spread around the communities that we love so dearly," the statement said. "It [has] become another obstacle that we are having to deal with in already difficult times."
The statement also states that at this time, there are no plans to close any locations, though specific issues, including social distancing, present unique problems.
