Speed limits on residential facing roads in The Woodlands will now have a speed limit of 20 mph after several weeks of discussion in Montgomery County Commissioners Court.
What happened
Following a proposal from Montgomery County Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack on June 13, two public hearings were held to discuss creating a uniform speed limit on all residential neighborhood roads in unincorporated Precinct 3 and Precinct 2 in The Woodlands.
The new speed limit will only affect neighborhood roads which have residential properties facing them, according to discussion at the meeting. Before the change, speed limits in neighborhoods across the township ranged from 25-35 mph.
