Read about some of the latest updates on transportation projects in the Sugar Land and Missouri City area. This list is not comprehensive.
1. Sugar Land Trail Phase 1
Project: The project will be a 10-foot wide, 3.5-mile concrete trail for bikes and pedestrians along Ditch H.
Update: At a July 21 meeting, Sugar Land City Council approved a construction contract with B&D Contractors Inc.
- Timeline: August 2026-October 2027
- Cost: $9.19 million
- Funding sources: Sugar Land 2013 parks bond, Fort Bend County 2021 parks bond and a 2026 Federal Transit Administration grant
2. Cravens Road one-way designation
Project: An ordinance designates approximately 700 feet of Cravens Road from Hwy. 90A northwest to the first private driveway to one-way traffic.
Update: At an Aug. 3 meeting, Missouri City City Council approved the second reading to redesignate the road.

- Cost: $500,000
- Funding source: Texas Department of Transportation
3. Soldiers Field Drive extension
Project: The project aims to extend Soldiers Field Drive to Hwy. 6 and add a right-turn lane from Hwy. 6 to Soldiers Field Drive.
Update: At a July 21 meeting, Sugar Land City Council approved a takeover agreement following a December contract cancellation.

- Funding sources: 2019 Sugar Land bond and 2023 Fort Bend County bond
