Emergency crews are on the scene of an accident involving a big rig at Hwy. 59 and University Boulevard in Sugar Land. Photos sent by viewers to ABC13 show the truck flipped over off the overpass and onto the feeder road Thursday afternoon. Officials told ABC13 that the initial accident involved three vehicles on the highway. The big rig drove off the overpass, landing on another car. The debris from the impact hit a fifth vehicle. The driver of the vehicle that was hit by the big rig was able to crawl out of the wreckage and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Two of the freeway mainlanes are blocked. The intersection below Hwy. 59 and University Boulevard will remain blocked for quite some time. Heavy traffic delays are anticipated in the area.
