Sugar Land and Missouri City residents have one final chance May 26 to weigh in on several county, state and federal races in the primary runoff election.
Where to vote
Fort Bend County residents can cast their votes at any of the 67 polling locations countywide, which are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. May 26, according to Fort Bend County’s election website.
Voters should bring at least one of seven forms of appropriate identification options to the polls, including a Texas driver's license, personal ID card, handgun license, military ID card or U.S. passport, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website.
On the ballot
Texas’ runoff elections, like primaries, are separated by political party. This means voters who participated in this year’s Republican primary are only allowed to vote in the Republican runoff, and those who voted in the Democratic primary can only vote in the Democratic runoff.
Individuals who did not vote in the March primaries or participate in a third-party nominating convention are eligible to vote in either party’s runoff.
The runoff election will include several Fort Bend County and U.S. House seats, including:
Fort Bend County judge Democratic primary
Fort Bend County clerk Democratic primary
Fort Bend County Precinct 4 commissioner Democratic primary
Fort Bend County Precinct 4 commissioner Republican primary
U.S. House District 7 Republican primary
There are also several state races in the runoff, including the Texas attorney general for both Democratic and Republican parties, and the Democratic Texas lieutenant governor position.
