What is your top priority if elected to represent the citizens of Fort Bend County?

My top priority is making sure county government works for the people it represents. That means being present, listening to residents, protecting taxpayer dollars, and making responsible decisions about infrastructure, mobility, public safety and growth. A commissioner should be accessible and accountable to the people of the precinct.

What do you think is the most pressing issue for Fort Bend County, and what will you do to address it?

The most pressing issue is managing growth while maintaining the infrastructure and quality of life that residents expect. How do you plan to involve residents in the decision-making process?

I believe residents should hear what their elected officials are doing and have an opportunity to be heard before important decisions are made. How should the county prepare to address its fast-growing population?

We need to plan infrastructure before growth overwhelms it, not after. Why did you choose to run for this position?

I chose to continue serving because public office is a public trust. Precinct 2 deserves experienced, accessible leadership that understands its history and changing needs. I remain committed to completing important work in Fresno, Fort Bend Houston, Missouri City, Stafford and every community I serve.

What are your qualifications for why you’d be a strong candidate in this role?

I am a registered professional engineer with a civil engineering degree and more than three decades on Commissioners Court. I helped establish county departments and have supported roads, drainage, parks, libraries, community centers, housing and health services. I bring experience, fiscal responsibility, institutional knowledge and a community-first approach.

What is your top priority if elected to represent the citizens of Fort Bend County?

My top priority is expanding access to the services and amenities that make communities complete. I continue advancing the Fresno Plan; improving parks, health care, youth and senior programs, housing opportunities and community facilities; and completing promised projects.

What do you think is the most pressing issue for Fort Bend County, and what will you do to address it?

Fort Bend County’s size and diversity mean no single approach fits every community. Across four precincts, residents have different needs, particularly in unincorporated areas where the county is the primary service provider. The pressing challenge is delivering those essential services equitably so every community enjoys a better quality of life.

How do you plan to involve residents in the decision-making process?

I have long encouraged residents to shape decisions through community meetings, town halls, surveys and planning exercises. That approach guided the Fifth Street Neighborhood Plan and continues through the Fresno Plan. I support early, accessible engagement, multiple ways to participate and clear follow-up showing how public input shapes priorities.

How should the county prepare to address its fast-growing population?

Preparing for growth requires connecting mobility, development and opportunity. Strategic road and transit investments support commercial development, which expands the tax base and creates jobs. I support public-private partnerships that leverage county resources, coordinate utilities and services and ensure growth strengthens established neighborhoods while meeting the needs of new residents.
