The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s World’s Champion Bar-B-Que Contest on Feb. 27-29 is just a warm up for all the food this year’s festivities will bring.
Some newcomers to the HLSR food lineup include Handmade Burgers, Jasper’s Rattlesnake Round Up, The Tot Spot & Mac Shack, Island Noodles, El Patio Restaurant, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Casa de Yummy and Fredericksburg Mini-Donut Co.
Some new food options are also on the menu, including Black Gold Truffles from Texas Pride Grill with chocolate cookie crumbs, cream cheese and white chocolate chips coated in sweet golden breading and fried, said Brittany Rader, senior manager of media relations and communications for the HLSR.
New savory food options include Cheetos Cheese Pickles from Biggy’s served with dill pickle chips, melted cheddar cheese and Flamin Hot Cheetos as well as The Finer Diner’s Mac and Cheese Eggrolls—a combination of three-cheese macaroni and smoked bacon bites wrapped in an egg roll and flash fried, Rader said.
The Rodeo runs from March 3-22 at NRG Stadium in Houston. Below is a full list of this year’s food lineup (asterisks denote new food vendors for 2020):
