Updated July 9: Former Fort Bend County Judge Bob Hebert was named interim CEO.

Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels board of directors named Robert “Bob” Hebert as interim CEO as of July 8, according to a news release from the organization.

Hebert steps in for Manuela Arroyos, who left her position as executive director and CEO on June 25.

The former Fort Bend County judge will work with the board help transition the organization's operations and programs until a permanent CEO is identified.

“Judge Hebert is well respected and has long been an integral part of the community,” Board Chairman Ray Aguilar said in a statement. “As the interim CEO of Fort Bend Seniors, he will continue to do what is best for the community and seniors we serve, and help move our organization to greater success in the future.”

Arroyos was with the organization since 1999.

Fort Bend Seniors facilitates the Meals on Wheels program, providing hot, home-delivered meals to more than 1,500 senior citizens daily, as well as offering other adult meals from 12 congregate sites across the county, according to the organization.

“Over the coming months, we will be conducting a search to find the new executive director,” board chairperson Ray Aguilar said in a statement. “The Fort Bend Seniors board will be posting the job announcement soon and asks for the community’s support in identifying candidates who can help Fort Bend Seniors continue its history of success in serving older adults throughout our community.”
