HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest added a next-generation robotic-assisted surgical system designed to enhance precision, support surgeons and expand access to advanced minimally invasive care for patients throughout the region, according to an Oct. 23 release.
What we know
Per the release, robotic-assisted surgeries allow surgeons to perform complex procedures through small incisions rather than larger openings required for traditional surgery.
Depending on the procedure and individual patient, minimally invasive surgery may offer several benefits, including:
Less postoperative pain
Reduced blood loss
Shorter hospital stays
A faster return to everyday activities.
"This investment is about more than bringing new technology into our operating rooms. It's about giving our patients access to advanced surgical care right here in our community," said Joel North, CEO. "We are committed to providing our physicians with the tools and resources they need to deliver exceptional care while helping patients get back to the people and activities they love."
