The Klein ISD board of trustees will discuss modifications to local board policies and the Theiss Elementary School renovation project at the July 13 regular meeting.
Two-minute impact
The board of trustees will hold first readings of proposed modifications for multiple local board policies ranging from special programs, class ranking and employee standards of conduct, per meeting documents.
The board of trustees will also consider and vote for approval of the construction manager at risk for the Theiss Elementary School renovation project, which is part of the district's 2022 Bond Program.
KISD began its new fiscal year July 1, following the board of trustees' adoption of the fiscal year 2026-27 budget June 8. The FY 2026-27 budget’s projected shortfall will be offset by the previous fiscal year’s surplus, as previously reported by Community Impact.
The adopted FY 2026-27 budget was based on an estimated tax rate of $1.0119 per $100 of property value, which is the same rate as FY 2025-26. However, the actual proposed tax rate will be determined in September or October once the district receives verified property values from the Harris County Appraisal District, as previously reported by Community Impact.
