At Castle Hill Fitness, classes are more than workouts; they’re experiences built on community, expertise and a deep respect for what keeps people moving.

As the Austin-based fitness hub celebrates 23 years this October, the team continues to expand its offerings and elevate the member experience. The team blends new energy with the trusted favorites that long-time members love.

Upcoming expansions

This October, Castle Hill Fitness is rolling out several new class options designed to challenge and inspire.

“We are expanding our cycle class program and ... adding more rhythm-focused formats,” programs manager Lisa Taggart said. “We’re also adding an additional intermediate Pilates equipment class and ... an evening Pilates rebound class.”

The rhythm-based cycle classes will bring an added layer of excitement to the studio. These high-energy sessions combine choreography and endurance for an immersive ride, built around music playlists and synchronized lighting.

Alongside these additions, formats such as Pilates, TRX and BarreYoga remain mainstays, many of which have been so popular they’re now regularly waitlisted.

“These fusion-style classes offer the best of multiple ... modalities, which gives a fun mix for clients or members to add to their regular workout,” Taggart said.

Castle Hill is also introducing a series of specialized workshops and series beginning this October through December, from restorative yoga wall sessions to barbell training for women and cardio kickboxing. Meanwhile, the gym’s newly added compression recovery services and refreshed gym spaces enhance the overall wellness experience.

January 2026 will bring new opportunities to train outdoors. The newly renovated outdoor studio will host yoga and sound sessions, a 5K training program, bootcamps and athletic conditioning classes. The covered area offers shade and protection from the elements, extending its usability year-round.

“We’re going to be adding a lot more events in our lovely, renovated outdoor studio space,” marketing manager Rebecca Brumberg said.

Taggart said a sneak peek into these classes will be coming this December.

What’s trending?

Since the pandemic, Castle Hill Fitness has seen a surge in interest around strength-based circuit training. These classes focus on progression, variety and form while maintaining a welcoming environment for all fitness levels.

“[Our] instructors excel at creating a non-intimidating environment,” Taggart said. “They see a variety [of people], from anyone who has just [started coming] to the gym, to someone that’s been coming for a few months, to long-time members, and they offer modifications.”

Among the standout offerings is The Challenge, a circuit-based class that lives up to its name.

“There’s a challenge every month, ... whether it’s ... doing 100 pushups or fixed tire flips up the hill. [The instructor] formats this class all month long for everybody to build up to [that goal],” Taggart said.

The loyal following of the class reflects the camaraderie and motivation that define Castle Hill’s community spirit.

How is member feedback used?

Balancing long-time favorites with innovation is an intentional effort.

“Feedback is a very valuable part of our [Castle Hill] community,” Taggart said. “We frequently survey our members to see what they want on the schedule and for special programs. Simultaneously, we monitor the fitness trends in Austin and also in the overall fitness industry. We’re constantly monitoring class attendance. ... Based on [all of that], we’ll test a new format.”

Brumberg added that instructors play a key role in that evolution.

“[Our instructors are] constantly engaging in continuing education, ... bringing new techniques to their classes,” she said. “Even if we’ve had the same class on the schedule for years, they keep it exciting.”
