In just a few years, the branch has become a cornerstone for small and mid-sized businesses and local residents. That commitment to relationships helped Alliance earn Forbes’ No. 1 Bank in Texas for 2025.
How was the bank founded?
When Alliance Bank Central Texas opened in 2007, it did things differently, raising capital from more than 100 shareholders, many of them future customers, to create a truly community-owned bank. The bank was designed to be owned by people most similar to the community it serves.
That structure fueled steady, organic growth, taking the bank from $30 million in assets to more than $1 billion and seven locations throughout Central Texas.
The creation of the bank’s board of directors took a unique approach as well.
“Our board of directors is made up of some of the most talented women and men representing a variety of industries across the community. The depth and breadth of their expertise and leadership play an integral part in the bank’s growth and success,” Executive Chairman of the Board Todd Moore said.

What makes the bank different?
The bank on Williams Drive was thoughtfully designed as a full-size, full-service facility, with a very professional yet relaxed feel. Clients are greeted by local bankers who understand the community they serve, enabling them to better fulfill their needs.
“Our bankers help local businesses and families navigate challenges and seize opportunities throughout all stages of life. We challenge ourselves to bring a lot more value than simply completing banking transactions,” Moore said.
In Georgetown, decision making rests with the local bankers who know their clients and their businesses.
“Building strong relationships with our clients is a big part of what we do. It allows us to understand their financial goals and help achieve them,” said Kevin Pitts, Senior Vice President and Commercial Relationship Manager.
Local decision making is also paramount when time is of the essence. After meeting with Moore, Executive Vice President and Market President Keith Odom, and CEO Ricky Thompson on a Friday, a customer called back the next Monday in a crunch; he needed a multi-million dollar loan by the end of the week.
“I got Ricky and Todd on the phone, ... and we had it closed by that Friday,” Odom said. “That was significant, and I think the client was shocked that we were able to move so quickly because, typically, that’s very difficult to do.”

The Georgetown team helps clients beyond banking. They offer referrals and connections that support both business and family needs. They are active on the city council, water development boards, chambers of commerce, and a wide range of nonprofits and organizations, including:
- YMCA of Central Texas
- Boys and Girls Club of Georgetown
- Georgetown ISD Education Foundation
- Breast Cancer Resource Center
- Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County, Texas
- Veteran Outdoors
