That’s why the locally owned clinic is excited to welcome Samuel Mauras, MSN, FNP-C, to its provider team.
Mauras brings years of experience in integrative and functional medicine. He helps men and women restore balance, improve energy and reclaim vitality through safe, personalized treatment plans.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Louisiana State University, and his Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from the University of Alabama, graduating in the top five of his class. With advanced training in bio-identical hormone therapy and functional medicine, Mauras treats patients from a root-cause perspective rather than focusing only on symptoms.
The range of expertise he brings excites the BioVitality team most.
“His background in functional medicine and in hormone care and weight management means he has a broad spectrum [of experience] in this industry that a lot of providers don’t,” co-founder Liz Metcalf said.
A personalized approach to hormone care
Unlike traditional practices that may consider bloodwork normal if results fall within a range, BioVitality takes a different approach.
“We optimize hormones based on both blood work as well as how the patient feels. That makes a big difference,” Metcalf said. “Bioidentical hormones are natural, so they’re better for [patients] overall rather than taking a synthetic [hormone].”

Services
Mauras will work closely with patients on:
- Hormone balance for both men and women
- Weight management and metabolic health
- Longevity therapies, including peptides and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, or NAD+
- Integrative wellness strategies that support physical, mental and emotional well-being
“Samuel continues his education by going to trainings throughout the year to keep on top of advanced scientific medicine,” Metcalf said. “He brings that here to the clinic, [so] we’re finding new ways and opportunities to help patients.”
Payment options
For more than seven years, BioVitality has built its reputation in the Lake Travis and Bee Cave community by pairing its advanced therapies with concierge-style attention.
“We have different payment options for patients, [such as] health savings accounts and flexible spending accounts,” Metcalf said. “We don’t charge a monthly membership; it’s all based on the patient’s treatment.”

A commitment to community
BioVitality, a locally owned and operated faith-based practice, believes in being good stewards of health within the Bee Cave and Lake Travis area.
“We’ve been in the community for close to eight years now, ... so we have a family-type atmosphere. [We’re focused on] community wellness,” Metcalf said.
