As the team looks ahead to its 50th anniversary in April 2026, their focus remains the same: relationships, trust and helping people smile again.
“We are a relationship-based practice,” Director of Operations Jeff Downs said. “We can do anything under our roof ... from fillings to full mouth reconstructions to implants.”
That broad scope of care is supported by a staff with remarkable longevity. Some have been with the practice for more than 25 years, while others are just beginning their journey, bringing fresh perspectives to a team known for compassion and consistency.
Meeting patients where they are
From the very first phone call, the practice emphasizes clear communication and transparency. Patients are introduced to the same friendly team member who greets them on arrival, ensuring a smooth handoff throughout the visit.
“Some people are so happy to be here, and some people are very anxious to be here,” Downs said. “We can be a soothing voice for them. We get a lot of people that say, ‘I felt very comfortable here, and y’all made it easy for me, so I keep coming back to you.’”
Downs added that one of the most rewarding experiences is seeing full-mouth implant patients transform emotionally as well as physically.
“They’re in tears when walking in the door because they’re scared, and they leave in tears because they’re so happy about where they are now,” Downs said. “That’s our ‘why.’ That’s why we do what we do.”
Technology
While relationships form the foundation, advanced technology increases accurate results. Every new patient receives a 3D cone beam computed tomography scan, which helps dentists detect hidden issues early.
The team also uses intraoral scanning to catch fractures before they cause pain, and is expanding into 3D printing for everything from night guards to full-mouth prosthetics.
“The precision of the scanning [makes prosthetics and night guards] so predictable,” Downs said. “They’re easy to do, easy to issue and easy to get a great result.”
In some cases, the practice can even deliver a new set of teeth in just one day. This gives patients the ability to walk out with a restored smile, faster than ever.

Building trust
Downs said trust is built not only through advanced tools, but also through simple reliability.
“We don’t let our patients fall through the cracks,” he said. “We take care of each person, and if we say we’re going to do something for them, we deliver on that.”
Cost is another barrier the team takes seriously. While the office does not finance directly, staff work alongside patients to secure outside financing and explore options.
“I personally will sit with a patient and fill out a [financial] application with them to see what they qualify for, and then we go from there,” Downs said.
In April 2026, the team will celebrate 50 years of serving the Northwest Austin community. Downs said this milestone is about more than longevity; it’s a reflection of the trust they’ve built over decades of care.
