Texas Republic Bank is a friendly, locally owned community bank dedicated not only to delivering an exceptional banking experience, but also to making a meaningful impact beyond the financial world.

Giving back is at the heart of the bank’s mission, and it is an essential part of how it operates and serves the communities of Richardson, Frisco, Celina, Pilot Point and Melissa.

The origins of the bank date back to 1891, when it was first chartered to serve Texans seeking to grow, develop and build strong communities for the future. Just as it was then, a group of local investors, headed up by Tim Cantrell and David Baty, acquired Texas Republic Bank in 2011. Their vision was to create a strong, community-focused bank to serve the needs of Texans across the metroplex.

Now, they are deeply committed to supporting local organizations and causes through both hands-on service and financial sponsorships. TRB employees are actively involved in charitable efforts, individually and as representatives of the bank, demonstrating a belief that strong communities are built through hands-on involvement and lasting relationships.

Whether volunteering at local events, supporting schools and nonprofits, sponsoring community initiatives or serving on the boards of local nonprofits, they are proud to serve their neighbors.

In the past year, TRB employees donated 770 hours in community service, and the bank provided $109,323 in donations and sponsorships.

This commitment is reflected in a wide range of outreach efforts across the communities TRB serves. In Frisco, employee volunteers supported students in need by stuffing backpacks for the Frisco ISD Backpack Bash. The Pilot Point branch plays an active role in the annual canned food drive benefiting Shepherd’s Storehouse, helping provide essential resources to local families in need. In Richardson, involvement in programs such as Leadership Richardson allows employees to know and serve the community on a deeper level.

The bank also proudly sponsors and participates in community events such as Celina’s Back the Blue Golf Tournament and Melissa’s BooFest, a Halloween celebration designed for children with special needs. During the holiday season, every branch across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex comes together to organize toy drives, spreading joy and support to families during Christmas. These ongoing efforts reflect the bank’s strong belief that meaningful impact starts at the local level, with every branch, every employee and every community served.

“It is so refreshing to work with a group of people that not only share the same passion for taking care of the customers, but also for making a positive and impactful change in our world,” TRB employee Nancy H. said.

More recently, in response to the devastating Texas Hill Country floods, employees joined together to donate $8,000 to Heal-Corp, a nonprofit organization that operates a search and rescue team specializing in disaster response. This effort highlights the bank’s dedication to supporting critical causes and providing assistance when communities need it most.

TRB gives back not only through service, but also through the financial products it offers. One example is their specialized Non-Profit Checking Account, designed to help mission-driven organizations in their community do more with their resources.

With an above-market interest rate and no monthly service charge, this account eases the financial burden so nonprofits can focus on what matters most: making a difference. TRB is proud to have hundreds of nonprofits banking with them, representing millions of dollars on deposit.

“As a true community bank with local ownership, local management and local decisions, offering the special nonprofit account is just something we do. It’s what a community bank does,” bank CEO David Baty said. “A lot of banks don’t want the hassle of dealing with nonprofit accounts, but we view it as our way of giving back and being an integral part of the communities we serve.”

Through these tailored solutions, they are proud to support those who dedicate themselves to serving others.

Grounded in Texas values and driven by a vision for the future, Texas Republic Bank stands as more than just a financial institution. It serves as a dedicated community partner, walking alongside its neighbors, supporting local initiatives and helping to strengthen communities so that families and businesses can grow and succeed for generations to come.
