At TLSx, that’s the starting point. From the moment clients walk through the door, they’re met with something different: a customized Pilates workout that changes with their body and their needs.
“We want to create the most effective workout ever,” owner Steve Young said.
How personalization drives every class
Before a single stretch or squat, instructors receive a software-generated report outlining each participant’s fitness level, limitations and progress.
“We spoon-feed our instructors reports on every single class,” Young said. “If someone has a hurt shoulder, or if they’re training for a marathon, we know exactly who everyone is in the room, and the instructor adapts the workout for them.”
TLSx uses a combination of body scanners, client surveys and a proprietary digital training portal with hundreds of videos that are updated monthly. That data powers every decision.
“Every other studio in the industry designs a generic workout for the day,” Young said. “TLSx is the first one that collects data and feedback from clients.”

Why members don’t want to leave
In an industry built on short-term trials, TLSx has created long-term loyalty.
“Once they’re a member, the average customer stays for 2 1/2 years,” Young said. “The primary reason they leave is that they move. ... People wouldn’t stay if they didn’t see results.”
Those results aren’t limited to one type of client.
“One of our oldest clients, Donnie, she’s 73 years old. ... She had osteoporosis. She started doing our classes. She had a bone density scan, and her doctor said, ‘I’ve never seen this in my career, but your osteoporosis is gone.’ She attributes it to doing TLSx classes,” Young said.
Studios with soul, not franchises
TLSx is growing fast, but each location is designed to feel personal.
“We decentralized our power as owners. We have captains of every studio,” Young said. “The captains are in charge of executing the strategy, and also making every studio unique and customized to their culture.”
A downtown studio may draw high-intensity members, while a Hill Country location may move at a more relaxed pace. Every class still adapts to individuals in the room, but the studio itself also reflects the community it serves.

What’s next?
Just one year ago, TLSx had three studios. Today, there are 10, with plans to double each year. New locations are underway in Houston, Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona.
“The goal is to have over one hundred studios and the most effective workout ever designed,” Young said.
Whether you're a first-timer or a lifelong athlete, TLSx is built to meet you where you are.
