The schools—Allen Aldridge Jr. Elementary, Ferndell Henry Elementary and Mission Bend Elementary—will each serve students in pre-K through fifth grade and represent an investment in modern learning environments, student well-being and community growth.
“We’re proud to open not just one, but three campuses this year that truly reflect 21st-century learning environments,” said Daniel Bankhead, FBISD executive director of design and construction. “These schools are going to impact not just this generation of students, but many more to come.”
Allen Aldridge Jr. Elementary
Allen Aldridge Elementary honors the late Bush High School football coach and community leader Allen Aldridge, Jr. This two-story, technology-rich campus combines bright, innovative architecture with modern, innovative classrooms.
Among its standout features is a shaded outdoor learning deck surrounded by preserved trees, along with nature-themed murals in each grade-level pod that highlight pollination and character-building traits. At the heart of the school, a light-filled library serves as a hub for exploration, reading and collaboration.
“Everything about this campus was designed to make learning feel exciting and meaningful,” Bankhead said. “It’s a place where students will be inspired every day—both inside and outside the classroom.”Ferndell Henry Elementary
Ferndell Henry Elementary, named in honor of lifelong educator Ferndell Henry, is a full renovation and expansion of the former Ferndell Henry Center for Learning. Once a secondary campus, it has been transformed into an elementary school.
The school features two colorful rubberized outdoor courtyards, creating a lively environment that encourages movement and exploration, while classrooms extend daylight inside, connecting indoor learning with the outdoors.
“Ferndell Henry has been completely refreshed—it’s light, bright, and full of color. It’s the kind of place where students will be excited to come and learn every day,” Deputy Superintendent Kathleen Brown said.Mission Bend Elementary
“Mission Elementary School is a combination of two campuses—Mission Bend and Mission Glen,” Brown said. “As the school was being built, those campuses were merged, and now students will return to a unified campus as one school.”
Classrooms are bright and adaptable for collaborative work, while the library and common areas serve as central hubs for exploration and creativity.
Outdoor spaces, including the green hill and landscaped areas, extend learning beyond the classroom, allowing students to engage in physical activity, discovery and play in a safe, inviting environment.

Prioritizing safety and security
While these new campuses provide inspiring spaces for learning and play, FBISD places equal importance on ensuring every student and staff member is safe and secure.
Each of the new campuses has been designed with multiple layers of security to ensure a safe learning environment. From secure perimeters and controlled entrances to state-of-the-art camera systems and classroom door barricades, the schools integrate safety seamlessly into the design.
Fort Bend ISD levels up
Opening three new elementary schools at once marks more than just growth—it’s a symbol of how FBISD is leveling up. As the district enters the 2025-26 school year, these new campuses reflect a broader vision: leveling up influence, impact and potential across every classroom.
While Allen Aldridge Jr., Ferndell Henry and Mission Bend elementaries showcase the newest in design and innovation, every campus in FBISD is part of this upward momentum. Whether brand-new or well-established, all schools are united by the district’s shared commitment to excellence, student success and whole-child development.
The first day of school won’t just mark the start of a new year—it will be a clear sign that FBISD is growing, innovating and investing in the future of every student.
