After seeing how early childhood education shaped their own children’s lives, the couple set out to give other families the same opportunity. Today, they own two Primrose schools: the long-established Primrose School of Champions, open for 26 years, and the recently opened Primrose School of Tomball.
“Education has always been the core value in our household,” Primrose Franchise Owner Snehal Bhakta said. “When we discovered Primrose Schools®, we were drawn to its Balanced Learning® approach, ... but the most important part is the character development.”
From corporate careers to a calling
The Bhaktas transitioned from corporate careers in the oil and gas industry to early childhood education and care.
“One of the biggest lessons we learned early on was how to adapt quickly to new challenges,” co-owner Nancy Bhakta said. “The key difference with Primrose was learning to integrate our personal values into their proven education system, ... while still making it feel unique for the families in our community.”
Their personal involvement sets the tone at both schools. The Bhaktas are on-site every day, connecting with students and families.
“It’s not just about opening a school,” Snehal Bhakta said. “It’s about building a culture of excellence and care that’s consistent [across locations].”

Primrose’s Balanced Learning® approach combines purposeful play with teacher-guided instruction, something the Bhaktas say families immediately notice.
One moment that stands out is when a mother was confused by her baby’s hand gestures. The Bhaktas explained that her daughter was using sign language to say thank you.
“Creating those moments is when we know Primrose provides the curriculum and education that we can pass on to other families,” Snehal Bhakta said.
Even as the franchise grows nationwide, Primrose continues to evolve.
“There is a growing emphasis on innovation and diversity,” Nancy Bhakta said. “It’s not just academics. ... It's, can you go into that big class in kindergarten and say, ‘Hey, my name is so-and-so. Can we be friends?’ That confidence [is important].”
Starting this fall, new enrichment programs, including drama, cooking and music, will further enhance that holistic approach.
“Parents these days are looking for real-life skills,” Snehal Bhakta said. “We are incorporating that into our classrooms, and that’s exciting.”

A business with heart
While Primrose provides strong franchisee support such as training, marketing and a robust network of other owners, the Bhaktas believe success starts with passion.
“When we decided to begin this journey, it all came from heart and not just logic,” Nancy Bhakta said. “Owning the school is more than just a business. ... It’s a calling.”
Snehal Bhakta agreed.
“Having a strong ‘why’ [is everything],” he said. “Regardless of the challenges, we remind ourselves of the purpose. We’re forever grateful that we’re able to align the mission and vision of providing the best education and care, and we’re just getting started.”
