From windshield replacements and recalibrations to tinting, the team at Glass Doctor Auto of Cedar Park is committed to providing fast, high-quality service delivered with empathy and care.

“When people have to get their windshield or door glass replaced, their day is already not going well. We want to try to make their experience here as positive as possible,” owner Russel Burleson said.

In just two years, the locally and family-owned shop has built a loyal customer base, earning more than 360 five-star reviews and becoming the highest-rated auto glass company in Central Texas.

Service and safety, from start to finish

Glass Doctor strives to meet customers where they are. Appointments can be made via phone, online request or walk-in. Once the job is underway, the team handles every detail with precision.

“The customer will usually call ... to get a quote for their replacement or repair. We [write] a quote for them, and we find out how soon we can get the glass,” sales and marketing manager Jennifer Contner said. “We also offer discounts to military veterans and their families, as well as educators, first responders ... and existing customers.”

To protect each vehicle during service, the shop uses a combination of pre-scans, protective gear and photo documentation.

“Before every job we do a pre-scan of the vehicle,” operations manager Shane Contner said. “We take photos of any damages before we touch the car to make sure that it [looks better when it] leaves [our shop]. We also cover the vehicle in different types of protections, such as fender protectors, foot protectors and dash protectors.”

Once repairs are completed, customers receive a post-scan report that they can also share with their insurance provider for added peace of mind.

Fast turnaround, expert precision

Many drivers are surprised at how quickly standard repairs can be completed. Simpler jobs, such as windshields without built-in sensors, typically take about an hour, including curing time.

For vehicles equipped with advanced driver assistance systems, recalibrations can take between 1.5 to 2 hours. The shop uses both Tel and Opti-Aim calibration software to verify system functionality.

“We take all of the necessary steps to make sure the cameras are working, and that the [customers] are safe when they leave.” Shane Contner said.

Training, certifications and long-term trust

As an Auto Glass Safety Council-certified shop, Glass Doctor holds its technicians to nationally recognized standards. Each new team member goes through a certification course and probationary period to ensure quality.

“We bring [our staff members] through a probationary period, even if they're experienced, to make sure that they're meeting the standards we expect,” Burleson said. “At least once every six months, and sometimes once a quarter, we also do additional training.”

Training topics range from recalibration to tinting, with support from local auto glass training centers and product manufacturers.

That dedication to excellence has earned national recognition.

“Shane is the reigning Service Professional of the Year,” Burleson said. “Out of over 800 service professionals nationwide, ... he was number one.”

Built by family, rooted in community

Glass Doctor began as a shared dream between family members. After researching over 60 businesses, the team landed on the franchise that aligned with their values.

With plans to transition ownership to Shane and Jennifer Contner in the coming year, the family is deeply involved in the local community.

“[We’ve been] getting more involved with the communities of Leander and Cedar Park,” Burleson said. “Being able to provide support to these folks but also to other business owners ... has been something I've really enjoyed.”
