Thanks to a partnership between Public Employees Credit Union and the financial app Zogo, Central Texans now have access to a free, fun and easy way to get ahead.

“Zogo is a top-rated gamified financial education app,” PECU Vice President of Marketing Scott Murphy said. “Anyone in Central Texas, even if they are not a PECU member, can download the Apple or Android version of Zogo.”

Whether learning how to budget, invest, buy a car or land a first job, Zogo makes personal finance approachable for users of all ages.



How does Zogo work?

Zogo contains nearly 1,000 mini lessons on everyday financial topics. Each module takes just a few minutes to complete and is written in clear, straightforward language—no financial jargon required.

“Users choose their desired topic module, review the information, answer quick questions at the end and earn coins,” Murphy said. “They can later cash in their coins for downloadable gift cards from their favorite brands.”

Gift card options include well-known names such as:

• Amazon
• Apple
• Nike
• Target
• Starbucks

The app has even topped national app store charts, proving that financial literacy can be both valuable and engaging.



Who is Zogo for?

Zogo was originally designed with Gen Z in mind, and teens make up a large portion of local users. However, it is accessible and helpful for a much wider audience.

“PECU Zogo users range in age from 12 to 88,” Murphy said.

From middle schoolers to retirees, the app meets users where they are, empowering them to make better financial decisions.

How is Zogo impacting users?

Since launching the partnership, PECU has helped bring Zogo to thousands of Central Texans, and the numbers show it’s making a difference.

“So far, Central Texas PECU Zogo users have earned 364 million financial literacy points and earned more than 20 million Zogo coins,” Murphy said. “All of that activity helps elevate our community’s financial literacy.”

Additionally, Zogo says that 94% of learners report an increase in financial confidence.

By supporting Zogo and covering the cost of prizes, PECU is helping raise the region’s financial knowledge one user at a time.
