Horizon opened in November 2024 and offers hospital-level rehabilitation in a specialized environment designed to help patients recover and return safely to their daily lives in the community.
“Horizon serves as the next critical phase in recovery following a significant medical event resulting in functional impairment” Director of Business Development Nikki McClellan said. “We walk with the patient toward the next horizon of their recovery focusing on restoring functional independence and quality of life”.
Comprehensive care tailored to patients
Horizon features 26 private rooms and provides comprehensive therapy services. Physical, occupational and speech therapy are tailored to the specific needs of every patient by uniquely experienced therapists. Common conditions that require inpatient rehabilitation include stroke, brain injuries, cardiac conditions, spinal cord injuries, neurological conditions and many other qualifying illnesses.

Patients receive a minimum of three hours of therapy daily, five days a week, with additional sessions based on their tolerance and progress. All therapy sessions are devoted to individual care specific to every patient’s needs.
Though physicians are required to visit three times a week, Horizon’s medical team visits more frequently to deliver consistent, attentive care throughout the rehabilitation journey.
Where healing begins with heart
At Horizon Rehabilitation Hospital, safety, compassion and integrity are the foundation of everything the team does.
Patient safety is a top priority, reflected in every detail of the hospital’s design and daily operations. From rigorous infection control and spotless cleanliness to thoughtful layout decisions, Horizon creates a secure environment that supports recovery.
Compassion and integrity are built into the culture. Every staff member, from the CEO who makes the rounds daily to nurses and therapists, everyone approaches care with empathy, consistently putting themselves in patients’ shoes.
The impact of this teamwork shines through in patient feedback, where gratitude often extends beyond one person to the entire staff.
“We give every patient a gratitude coin so they can recognize someone who made a significant impact on their recovery,” McClellan said. “Every patient struggles to choose just one person because so many staff members have touched their journey. That speaks volumes. It’s not one person; it’s a team effort.”

Patient testimony: Miranda Choi
For patient Miranda Choi, Horizon was a turning point.
After a traumatic brain injury left her in a coma and dependent on a feeding tube, her recovery was further complicated by multiple hospital transfers and setbacks.
Her husband, Wing Choi, was hesitant to move her again until a trusted respiratory therapist recommended Horizon. Wing Choi and his brother-in-law toured the facility and were immediately impressed by its professionalism and warmth.
Once at Horizon, Miranda began making remarkable progress.
“She arrived barely able to swallow an ice chip,” Wing said. “Within days, she was eating applesauce. Weeks later, she was eating soft foods. They pushed her gently but firmly because they believed in her.”
What stood out about Horizon to Wing Choi:
- Twice-daily physician visits
- A specialized standing machine ordered just for Choi
- Extra therapy tailored to her TBI
- Complete support and training for her continued care at home
