Uptown Automotive began humbly in 2010 inside a 2,500-square-foot garage, offering basic mechanical maintenance and repair. By 2015, it had expanded to 6,000 square feet and grown to include paint, body and collision services. The defining milestone came in 2018, when the team moved into a 25,000-square-foot flagship facility in Bellaire. But just four years later, disaster struck.
“On December 20, 2022, a devastating three-alarm fire destroyed our Bellaire location overnight,” Fazal said. “It was one of the hardest moments of my life. As a husband, father of two and employer to over 20 team members, I knew giving up wasn’t an option.”
With grit, determination, and the support of a close family friend, the Uptown Automotive team quickly rallied. They secured a vacant 9,000-square-foot building in the Heights and, in just three weeks, reopened for business. Mechanics became makeshift construction workers, and though the operation was scaled back, their mission remained unwavering: to deliver automotive care with transparency, honesty and excellence.
They’ve since closed the Heights location to concentrate on two major priorities: operating from a new primary site, located at 14800 Hempstead Road, Houston, and preparing for the full rebuild of our Bellaire flagship, scheduled to reopen in January 2026.
