Franchise owners Tanya and Jeven Stasey are longtime McKinney residents who decided to open a location after years of being LEGO hobbyists themselves. The store is located at 1411 N. Custer Road, Ste. 200, McKinney, and the Staseys are planning a grand opening in late June.
The result is a local LEGO destination unlike any other, featuring both new and pre-owned LEGO sets, bulk bricks, custom-built minifigs, vintage pieces and rare kits not typically found in big-box stores.
“We’re also part of a national network of over 200 stores, so if we don’t have what you’re looking for, we can put out a call to find it,” Jeven Stasey said.
Bricks & Minifigs McKinney is more than just a retail shop—it’s a welcoming and relaxed environment where visitors feel comfortable exploring and connecting over a shared love of LEGO. The store features an event space for birthday parties, corporate team-building and even LEGO-themed date nights.
“We want to be a destination for everybody to come and hang out,” Jeven Stasey said. “It’s not just about the products and selling stuff. We want people to be able to come and discuss ideas.”
Guests can sift through bulk tables, build their own creation and even share their work with others.

A dedicated display case will showcase customer-built "mocs"—a LEGO community term for "My Own Creation"—highlighting the creativity of adult fans of LEGO. Some personal creations, like a 3-foot-tall Mario, will be on permanent display, while others will rotate to feature community contributions.
The store also plans to host robotics classes using equipment from Lewisville ISD’s former LEGO robotics program, which the Staseys purchased at auction. Additional offerings may include STEM workshops, homeschool events and sensory-sensitive programs.
To celebrate the grand opening, the store is planning a family-friendly event featuring LEGO Masters contestants, custom McKinney-themed minifigs for the first 100 visitors, giveaways and a build-your-own lightsaber activity. While construction delays have shifted the original opening timeline, the team is aiming for a late June date.
Community involvement is also central to the Staseys’ vision. They’ve already signed on to sponsor local events, including McKinney’s upcoming music festival.
At the heart of it all, the couple says they simply want Bricks & Minifigs McKinney to be a joyful, welcoming space.
