A new chapter in health care is about to begin in North Frisco, where an innovative medical center is preparing to open its doors in just a few weeks. But this isn’t just a hospital, it’s a vision for the future of wellness in North Texas.

Located at the intersection of Dallas North Tollway and PGA Parkway, this 40-acre health care destination offers more than just leading-edge medical care. It’s a place intentionally designed to support the well-being of individuals, families and the entire community.

“A playscape, walking trails and open green space aren’t typical hospital features, but we’re not building a typical hospital,” said Ryan Gebhart, FACHE, president, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Frisco at PGA Parkway. “This is more than a hospital, it’s an experience-driven medical center, focused long-term on education, research and innovation.”

More than two miles of paved trails wind through the campus, offering patients, staff and visitors an opportunity to connect with nature. Shaded walking paths, a children’s play area and hundreds of newly planted trees help set a calming tone even before you walk through the front doors.

Inside the 340,000-square-foot facility, innovation meets compassion. The hospital features 84 inpatient beds and includes comprehensive emergency care with 15 private rooms and a dedicated trauma bay. Surgical services will include six operating rooms, specialized labs for gastroenterology, bronchoscopy, and interventional radiology, along with advanced robotic technologies.

“This hospital was designed to deliver advanced care,” said Eric Beshires, M.D. chief medical officer, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Frisco at PGA Parkway. “We’ve created a space that’s clinically exceptional, but just as importantly, we’ve created a place where healing extends beyond procedures and medications,” he added.

One of the distinctive features of the hospital is the Center for Women and Infants, an entire floor dedicated to women’s health.

Designed to provide a personalized experience for growing families, the center includes labor and delivery suites, postpartum recovery rooms and a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for newborns needing specialized care.

But perhaps the most important part of the hospital is its people and the culture they’re building from the ground up.

“Our people are our greatest strength,” said Christin Timmons, MSN, RN, NE-BC, vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Frisco at PGA Parkway. “We prioritize their well-being and engagement because when our caregivers are supported, our patients benefit.”

That focus on team member experience is part of the hospital’s broader philosophy, one built around guiding pillars, and Baylor Scott & White’s values — all of which act as a daily compass for the team members, shaping every decision and interaction.

“Everything here is designed with intention,” Gebhart added. “From fostering an inclusive and inspiring campus to cultivating care that heals the whole person, we’re setting a new standard for what health care can be.”

The hospital is part of the Baylor Scott & White Health system, which emphasizes connected, seamless care. The goal is to make every experience frictionless, whether it’s a same-day visit or a complex, long-term recovery.

At its core, the hospital is guided by a powerful mission: to promote the well-being of every individual, family, and community it serves.

“Our vision is simple,” said Gebhart. “We’re here to empower people to live well.”

As North Frisco continues to grow, this new medical center is poised to meet the needs of a thriving region, blending high-quality care with community-centered innovation and opening a new door to lifelong wellness.
