Since 2002, The Cottages at Chapel Creek has remained a family-owned and operated memory care provider with a singular focus: supporting individuals with Alzheimer’s and other memory disorders.

The Cottages at Chapel Creek has locations in, League City, Round Rock, Amarillo and Frisco. The Frisco location is at 8111 Wade Blvd. Unlike many senior living options that combine services with assisted or independent living services, The Cottages at Chapel Creek is dedicated solely to memory care. That focus is reflected in every aspect of the business, from facility design to staff training.

Communities that feel like home

Each Cottages community is custom built from the ground up with memory care residents in mind. The buildings feature center-hall floor plans and color-coded “townhomes” to create smaller, familiar-feeling living areas. Residents can also gather together in the large backyard at each location. In addition to intentionally warm and welcoming common spaces, residents dine together at familiar family-style tables.

“When you walk into our facilities, it’s like a 40,000-square-foot luxury home,” Co-founder Mandy Quinn said. “You walk into the formal living room, with chandeliers and custom sofas and hand-selected books everywhere.”

In addition, offices for management and care teams are located in the center of each building ensuring visibility, accessibility and connection.

“They know what's going on with every resident,” Quinn said.

When Quinn and her husband Trent first opened their Frisco location, a couple stopped by for a tour. As they walked through the dining area, she said the visitors immediately commented on how familiar and homey it felt, like a place where their mother used to dine with their family. That moment captured exactly what the team aims to create: an environment where individuals with memory disorders feel loved, comfortable and truly at home.

Meeting memory care-specific needs

Every employee at The Cottages at Chapel Creek, from caregivers to chefs and housekeepers, receives specialized training in memory care.

“They all go through very intense training when they're hired and they're trained specifically on how to handle residents with memory disorders,” Quinn said.

Programming is personalized for each resident, with every community featuring a life enrichment coordinator who leads daily activities tailored to individuals with memory loss. According to Quinn, these activities can help spark old emotions in residents.

One particularly memorable moment happened after a piano was added to one of the communities. A resident who had previously been mostly nonverbal due to advanced memory loss surprised everyone by sitting down and playing the piano.

Moments like that highlight a guiding philosophy at The Cottages at Chapel Creek: individuals with memory disorders still hold meaningful abilities and have much to give.

“We really look at this as the larger Cottages family,” Quinn said. “When people come and decide to place their loved one here, they become part of our family.”

With personalized care, a warm and intentional environment, and deep-rooted connection, it’s a community built to feel like home.

The Quinns said the journey into memory care wasn’t something they planned, but it quickly became a calling.

“Now that we're doing it, we realize it's what we were to do,” Quinn said “I cannot imagine doing any other line of work.”
