“Discovery Cove is more than just a waterpark; it’s a reflection of our mission to create places where residents' lives are enriched and made better by choosing to live at The Highlands,” marketing manager Becca Green said.
Phase I of Discovery Cove
This first phase of Discovery Cove includes a sprawling lazy river with an 8 to 10 minute float time, two 25-foot drop slides, a splash pad, 8,600 square feet resort-style pool and elevated diving pools with swing jumps.
While the water features take center stage now, future phases of Discovery Cove will continue to enhance its offerings. Future phases will introduce a fitness center, movement studio, expanded pickleball courts, meeting spaces and event lawn. The Highlands plans to break ground on Phase 2 this year, with more details to come.
“Each phase will add more features and recreational opportunities, ensuring that Discovery Cove remains a vibrant and evolving hub for the community,” Green said.
Exciting events and community celebrations
To celebrate the grand opening, The Highlands hosted Party In The Cove. The event welcomed both residents and prospective buyers, offering a rare chance for the public to experience the private water park before it became exclusive to residents of The Highlands.
From DJs spinning poolside beats to food trucks, live music, icy treats and photo ops, the event highlighted the community’s signature energy and focus on family-friendly fun. Attendees were also shuttled to the brand-new model home park and the active adult section, Fairway Pines and Beazer Duets, where 15 new model homes were open for tours.
One of the major additions to the builder lineup is Chesmar Homes, a welcome new partner offering fresh floor plans and features. Chesmar offers single-family homes with six distinct floorplans ranging from 2,086 to 3,173 square feet.
To bring events like Party In The Cove to life, The Highlands has a dedicated full-time lifestyle director who plans, organizes and hosts engaging activities throughout the year. Their role is central to creating meaningful experiences for residents and fostering the strong sense of community that makes The Highlands feel like home.
