Choosing the right care for an aging loved one is one of the most important, and often most emotional, decisions a family can make. Bristol Park at Cypress helps ease that burden with compassionate assisted living and memory care, offering personalized support tailored to each resident’s unique needs.

Located in Cypress, this Sagora Senior Living community blends individualized support with a culture of kindness, creating a warm, connected environment where residents can thrive.

The backstory

Originally opened in 2016, Bristol Park faced early challenges, including low occupancy and the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, it joined the Sagora family, gaining added resources and stability while staying true to its mission of delivering personalized, heartfelt care in a place residents are proud to call home.

“We were able to recognize issues immediately and start making changes. Now, we have reached 100% occupancy and have a wait list,” Executive Director Kimberly Pera said. “One thing that has never changed was our focus on kindness and excellence.”

This mindset guides everything at Bristol Park from personal care plans to everyday interactions. Pera uses a simple metaphor to describe the hidden challenges residents may face.

"I compare their experiences to a bag of potato chips. The packaging starts by looking perfect with bright colors, the logo spelled correctly, nutrition information and all four corners intact," Pera said. "Every challenge a resident faces, such as not being able to button their own shirt or go to the bathroom by themselves, is like crushing the bag. The damage isn’t visible, but it’s there. We don’t always see how broken the chips are. Being kind, understanding and patient makes a difference in everything that we do.”

Living options

At Bristol Park at Cypress, care is tailored to meet residents where they are, offering the right balance of support, dignity and freedom. Whether someone needs minimal assistance or more specialized memory care, each resident is treated as an individual with unique needs and preferences.

In assisted living, residents enjoy independence while receiving help only where it's needed. They have the freedom to shape their days, choosing when and how to participate in activities or simply relax in their apartments, which include kitchenettes for convenience.

Memory care at Bristol Park is designed with a different rhythm, one that supports residents with cognitive challenges through structure, gentle prompting and compassionate engagement. Through Sagora’s signature Sagora Pathways program, residents are guided throughout the day with warmth and encouragement.

Team members and volunteers

The dedicated team at Bristol Park includes not only experienced caregivers and staff but also a compassionate group of volunteers who play an important role in building the community’s warm, family-like atmosphere.

Team members are trained to provide care with patience and respect, creating meaningful moments with residents each day. Volunteers, many of whom have had loved ones live at Bristol Park, continue to give their time long after their family members have passed. This is a testament to the deep connections formed here.

“That kind of commitment speaks volumes about the love and trust they felt here,” Pera said. “It’s a beautiful reflection of what this place means to people.”

Easing doubts with compassionate support

Making the decision to move a loved one into assisted living often comes with a mix of emotions: guilt, fear and uncertainty, among others. Families may worry about whether their loved one will feel at home, receive the attention they need or lose their independence.

At Bristol Park at Cypress, these concerns are met with empathy and proactive communication. The team understands the weight of the decision and works to build trust from the very beginning.

“By moving the loved one into our community, family members are able to step away from being the caregiver themselves and actually go back to being the daughter, son, spouse, etc.,” Pera said. “This makes the time they're together more enjoyable. This is their home, and we are blessed to work in it and provide them the care they need.”

Pera welcomes prospective residents and their families to come look around and feel the sense of love and community at Bristol Park. Schedule a tour on the website’s scheduling page.
