The City of Kyle is gearing up for another unforgettable weekend of fun, food and festivities at the 2025 Kyle Fair: A Tex-Travaganza, set to take place May 16-18 at Lake Kyle Park.

With a full lineup of live music and family-friendly activities, the Kyle Fair has quickly become a signature event for the city, offering free admission, diverse entertainment, and a variety of contests and activities for all ages.

“There’s no cost for entry, so we create an event where everyone is welcome,” said Aimee Garcia, Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation. “We want our local residents to come out and enjoy the festivities and the music and the market vendors. It also provides opportunities for people around the area to visit us and to put Kyle on the map.”

What’s new this year

While the event won’t include a Guinness World Record attempt this year, the Kyle Fair is still rolling out a big welcome for anyone named Kyle or Kylie. Special Events Manager Claudia Rocha said the team chose not to pursue a world record attempt this year in order to create a more relaxed, inclusive atmosphere without the pressure of strict guidelines. Rocha said organizers plan to spotlight attendees named Kyle throughout the weekend, from the youngest to the furthest-traveled.

Another change to this year’s event is the expanded kids zone complete with larger-than-life games like Life-Size Loteria, themed after local icons such as the Finer Than Frog Hair Frog. Families can also enjoy the traditional carnival rides, along with new family-focused competitions happening throughout the weekend.

A clear bag policy will be enforced, and outside food and drink will not be permitted, with exceptions for medical needs or baby supplies.

The music lineup

This year’s entertainment is packed with local talent and big-name acts. Friday night will showcase local musicians, including the popular rock group Suede and Broken Arrow. Saturday's lineup includes headline performances from 2024 Tejano Entertainer of the Year Stephanie Montiel and legendary Texas band Max Baca & the Los Texmaniacs. Regional favorite Grupo Ziztema will also take the stage, alongside mariachi group Mariachi Clasico.

Sunday will feature the EZ Band, known for their Tejano twists on '80s and '90s hits, bringing an energetic close to the weekend’s festivities. To close out a fun filled weekend will be a performance by country artist Bri Bagwell.

A taste of Texas

Back by popular demand, the Kyle Fair will once again fire up its famous fajita, rib and margarita contests, giving local chefs and grillmasters a chance to showcase their best flavors. Positioned at the heart of the festival grounds, the food competitions are designed to bring the community together, Rocha said.

“They can go back and forth and taste the food in the vendor area, go shopping, have fun at the carnival and then enjoy music,” Rocha said. “It just gives a place for local families to spend all day together.”

Families and individuals are encouraged to sign up to compete, and event organizers are also seeking volunteer judges to help crown this year's culinary champions.
