Boerne’s residential landscape is evolving as The Lookout Group continues to shape the region with its master-planned communities, Esperanza and George’s Ranch. Situated just three miles apart along Hwy. 46, these two communities cater to a diverse range of homebuyers while embracing the area’s rich history and culture.

Esperanza: A community built on artful details and thoughtful design

Spanning 1,700 acres, Esperanza offers a variety of residential options, featuring six renowned builders and an array of community experiences and amenities designed for all ages. Residents enjoy a four-acre dog park, a nature-inspired playground, volleyball courts, a lazy river, an event lawn and a food truck court.

“No matter their age, whether kids or active adults, everyone can find something to love in Esperanza,” said Vice President Kelly Rarick.

Esperanza’s Spanish-influenced design shines through in its street names, intricate tilework and carved stone details. The community’s entrance features a striking mission-style facade inspired by St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Boerne, paying homage to the town’s history.

Still expanding, Esperanza is set to include 3,400 homes at full buildout. Future plans include a second entrance in 2026, an interconnected trail system and the Esperanza Town Center, a commercial district envisioned to house boutiques, service providers and local businesses.

A highlight of this growth is The Hacienda, a $10 million clubhouse exclusively for 55-plus active adult residents, built by Toll Brothers. This upscale facility features a fitness center, game rooms, a library, lounge areas, pickleball and bocce courts, and a private pool.

“Residents create their own neighborhood groups, hosting block parties and wine nights,” Rarick said. “They truly take pride in being part of Esperanza.”

George’s Ranch: A historic legacy reimagined

Just a few miles from Esperanza, George’s Ranch offers a different take on Hill Country living with its sprawling 1-acre homesites and deep ties to Texas history. Named after George Wilkins Kendall, a pioneering figure in Texas’ early sheep industry, the 1,140-acre neighborhood will feature 775 homes at full buildout.

One of the community’s most distinctive elements is the preservation of a 10,000-square-foot horse barn, which will be repurposed as a community gathering space. Plans include event rentals, a gym and a scenic lawn with picnic areas.

Additionally, Kendall’s original homestead will be preserved, allowing residents to view it from the exterior, keeping his legacy alive.

“Restoring the original homestead is a significant way to honor Kendall’s impact,” President Mike Siefert said. “We even named streets after key figures in his life. His wife, Adeline, is honored with Sweet Adeline Drive, the main road leading into George’s Ranch, and a separate gated section featuring custom homes is named Adeline. It was important to us to recognize her as well.”

To further celebrate Kendall’s contributions, The Lookout Group is installing bronze sheep statues at the entrance, alongside a historical plaque highlighting his role in the Texas sheep industry.

While still under development, builders Perry Homes, Monticello Homes and Toll Brothers have begun selling homes, with the community’s official grand opening set for May.

Exciting events on the horizon

In May, George’s Ranch will host the Greater San Antonio Builders Association’s Parade of Homes, showcasing multimillion-dollar residences from eight custom homebuilders. Before that, on April 2, the community will hold The Big Reveal, an exclusive event for Realtors to explore newly completed model homes.

With Esperanza thriving and George’s Ranch making its debut, The Lookout Group continues to redefine residential living in Boerne, offering homebuyers a blend of community-focused design and rich Texas heritage.
