Events Behind the Fence offers versatile music, rental venue in Tomball

Sponsored by: Events Behind the Fence

Owned by the passionate duo behind 403 EATS, Gretchen and Michael Fagan, Events Behind the Fence is a versatile, family-friendly venue located in the same park. With 9,000 square feet of space, including an impressive 7,000-square-foot grassy area, this Tomball location is perfect for everything, from live music and concerts to birthday parties and corporate gatherings.

403 EATS is a vibrant food truck park and live music venue that hosts weekly events. The concept was created by Gretchen Fagan in 2016 during her time as Mayor of Tomball. It officially opened in 2017, featuring six food trucks, and indoor and outdoor seating.

In 2024, the Fagans expanded the park to include Events Behind the Fence, creating a music and rental venue that adds another layer of fun and flexibility to their offerings.

“We wanted to create an oasis where people could gather for all kinds of events and occasions,” Michael Fagan said.

The spacious, fully-fenced area of Events Behind the Fence provides a safe and welcoming environment for guests. With ample room for hundreds of attendees, the venue includes a 100-car parking lot and seven bathrooms to ensure comfort and convenience for all.

“At Events Behind the Fence, everyone is welcome,” Michael Fagan said. “We’ve created a space where families can gather, kids and dogs can play, and everyone can enjoy great music, food and drinks in a comfortable, safe setting.”

At Events Behind the Fence, the weekend lineup is especially exciting. Every Friday and Saturday night, the venue hosts acoustic singers in the courtyard, creating a vibrant atmosphere for attendees to enjoy while they grab food and drinks from 403 EATS.

“We always strive to make sure the music fits the crowd and focus on upcoming local artists,” said Michael Fagan. “Our goal is for them to start in the courtyard and, hopefully, come back to perform on stage at Events Behind the Fence.”

The venue also opens its doors to different groups and entities who can rent the space for various events, creating a hub of activity all week long.

The venue is flexible and can accommodate events of all sizes. While it can easily host large gatherings, it's also ideal for smaller, more intimate celebrations, such as birthday parties or family reunions. Guests can rent the entire space or just a portion of it, allowing for a customized experience.

For a truly unique experience, guests can also opt for Garbo the VIP Airstream, a stylish and private space perfect for those looking to add an extra touch of luxury to their event.

What makes this venue stand out is not just its size and versatility, but also the exceptional service it provides.

"Gretchen and I try our best to ensure one of us is always at the event to make sure everything runs perfectly," Michael Fagan said. "It’s a small business, and we care about providing great service, no matter the size of the event."

The staff at Events Behind the Fence goes above and beyond, offering top-notch service in a laid back outdoor setting. They serve food and drinks just like it’s an indoor event, with the same level of care and attention to detail.

The venue is also a training ground for young staff members, many of whom gain valuable life skills while working at Events Behind the Fence. It’s not uncommon for employees to return after moving on to college or new careers, expressing gratitude for the lessons they’ve learned during their time there.

"We’ve had a lot of kids come through here, and it’s amazing to see how they grow," Gretchen Fagan said. "We help them gain real-life skills, and it’s rewarding to watch them succeed in life after they leave."
