Nature’s Treasures celebrates 25 years with exciting move to bigger location

For 25 years, Nature’s Treasures has been more than just a rock and mineral shop—it has been a cherished part of the Austin community, and a gathering place for collectors, healers and crystal lovers alike. Now, as they celebrate this milestone, they are embarking on their biggest transformation yet: a move to a new, larger location at 11055 N. I-35, Austin.

This transition isn’t just about growing their space—it’s about honoring the past, embracing the present and building an exciting future, all while staying deeply connected to the customers who have made this journey possible.

Celebrating 25 years of growth

Nature’s Treasures opened in 2000 as owner Karen Richards’ passion project, stemming from her hobby of using crystals and minerals to stage her furniture store. When customers started asking to buy the crystals themselves, a single shelf quickly grew into dedicated rooms, eventually evolving into the thriving, community-focused business it is today.

For 25 years, Nature’s Treasures has been more than just a store—it’s a space for connection, learning and discovery. From hand-wrapped stones to a bustling retail and event center, its journey has been driven by passion, dedication and gratitude for the community that made it all possible.

"We started with just one shelf with a few crystals, but the enthusiasm of our customers kept pushing us to grow to what will soon be a 25,000-square-foot store,” retail manager Michael Kallstrom said. “Every step of the way, the community has shaped what Nature’s Treasures has become."

Ensuring a seamless transition

Nature’s Treasures is excited to announce its expansion to a larger location, originally set to open in January, but now transitioning gradually to the new space over the next few months.

Nature’s Treasures understands that moving a beloved community space is no small task, and they are committed to making the transition as smooth and seamless as possible for their customers.

“We plan to gradually move things from the 4103 N. I-35 store to the new location at 11055 N. I-35 throughout March,” Kallstrom said. “We will keep the original store open until everything is fully moved. If customers are wondering whether the original store is still open, the ‘Still Open! Moving Soon!’ banner will be up for the duration of its operation until the transition is complete. Once the sign is removed, that will mark the completion of our move.”

One of the first steps in the transition was launching the new event center, which is already fully operational at the new location. This space is hosting workshops, community gatherings and special events, providing a sneak peek into the future of Nature’s Treasures.

Additionally, a crystal boutique has been established in the event center, open Friday through Monday, featuring a curated selection of event-specific items, crystals and metaphysical tools. This boutique offers a taste of what’s to come, allowing customers to start exploring the new space and shop select items before the full retail transition is complete.

Looking forward

Looking ahead, Nature’s Treasures is excited about the future. They are committed to continuing to be a space for connection, growth and discovery in the years to come.

“Our journey is far from over. As we expand into this larger space, we plan to offer even more opportunities for learning, healing and creativity, while always staying true to the values that have made us what we are today,” Kallstrom said. “Looking to the future, we hope to expand even further, with plans to open an additional location in South Austin so we can reconnect with and provide more accessibility to those communities.”

To celebrate the future as well as the past, Nature's Treasures will be hosting a Spring Tucson Trunk Show and Grand Opening at a later date, bringing together local artists, creators and vendors to highlight the vibrant community that has been so instrumental in their success. It’s an event that promises to honor both their legacy and the exciting future ahead.
