Expanding Heart Care
Memorial Hermann Heart & Vascular Institute at The Woodlands has long been established as a premier medical destination—featuring a Level II trauma center and a more expansive heart and vascular program—Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital continues to grow and advance its cardiovascular services.
Later this spring, Memorial Hermann Northeast will further expand and enhance its heart surgical services to include coronary artery bypass grafting and off-pump coronary artery bypass, as well as valvular heart surgery, such as surgical aortic valve repair/replacement.

Cardiovascular Services Offered at Both Facilities
Both Memorial Hermann locations offer a full spectrum of general and interventional cardiology services, including comprehensive diagnostic testing such as electrocardiograms (ECG/EKG), echocardiograms, coronary CT angiograms and nuclear medicine scans. Both hospitals also feature cardiac rehabilitation programs with dedicated gyms to support patients in recovery.
Additionally, both locations have cardiac catheterization labs for diagnostic and interventional procedures, including angioplasty, stenting and pacemaker implantation. Patients at both facilities also have access to cardiac electrophysiology services for the treatment of arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation, through cardiac ablation procedures. This program will also allow for percutaneous closure of left atrial appendage to be performed at both locations.
Some of the heart conditions both facilities can treat include:
- Congestive heart failure
- Coronary artery disease
- Hypertension
- Mitral regurgitation
- Atrial fibrillation
- Sudden cardiac arrest
- Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome

Additional services offered at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands include:
- Transcatheter aortic valve replacement: a minimally invasive procedure for aortic valve disease
- Percutaneous patent foramen ovale closure: a procedure to treat abnormal openings in the heart
- Transcatheter edge-to-edge repair: a minimally invasive procedure to repair the mitral valve for patients with severe mitral regurgitation
- Advanced cardiac surgery options: including complex valve surgeries and comprehensive heart failure treatments like mechanical circulatory support
