Deck N Cable Railing enhances Austin homes with custom railings, decks, more

Deck N Cable Railing enhances Austin homes with custom railings, decks, more

Sponsored by: Deck N Cable Railing LLC

With its focus on custom design, personalized customer service and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship, Deck N Cable Railing, located at 109 S. Sheppard St., has carved out a unique niche in the Austin construction market. Founder Juan Pena, who has over a decade of construction experience, started the business to deliver a more tailored experience.

“I started the company from scratch,” Pena said. “It’s a small company, so we take a hands-on, one-on-one approach with the customer.”

Custom solutions at a competitive price

Deck N Cable Railing’s services include the following:
  • Deck design, installation, staining and repairs
  • Fence installation, staining and repairs
  • Stainless steel cable railing
  • Metal, iron or wood railing
  • Gate installation and repairs
  • Patio repairs
  • Painting and staining decks, fences and other outdoor structures
  • Power washing and refinishing services
  • Installation of screened-in porches, pergolas, outdoor lighting and fans, and balcony and patio extensions
  • Indoor bathroom, flooring, lighting and painting updates

Many of Pena’s favorite projects are crafting and assembling cable railings, which are designed to fit seamlessly with each customer’s property. Unlike pre-packaged railing kits, which can cause alignment issues on uneven terrain, the company’s custom-built railings are welded, cut and painted on-site.

“When people order railing kits, it only comes with the materials. They still have to find someone to put it up for them. Our custom work is half the price, and labor is included,” Pena said.

The company’s dedication to personalized solutions has won over customers in the Austin area, particularly those in the Hill Country or near lakes who value the unobstructed views provided by cable railings.

“The cable railing is perfect for views,” Pena said. “It looks so different and clean. It opens up the backyard, so people can get a beautiful view of their surroundings.”

His commitment to honesty has also led to great success.

“Honesty is the key to success,” Pena said. “I’m straightforward with customers about what is and isn’t possible. That’s important.”

Supporting local families and the community

In addition to serving its customers, Deck N Cable Railing takes pride in supporting its team. The company is made up of a small, close-knit team, and Pena is committed to keeping them busy with steady projects.

“They have families, so if I don’t provide work, they don’t work,” Pena said.

The Austin community has also been vital to the company’s success.

“Austin is always remodeling. There’s always something going on,” Pena said.

Looking ahead

As Deck N Cable Railing approaches its second anniversary, Pena is focused on maintaining the company’s personalized approach while exploring opportunities in the commercial sector.

“For now, I want to keep it small with the team I have, but I’m looking to get into more commercial projects,” Pena said.

With a commitment to quality, honesty and community, Deck N Cable Railing has built a strong foundation for future growth.
