This spring break, visitors at the Institute for Creation Research Discovery Center can explore life-size dinosaur exhibits, fossil collections and engaging activities that bring Earth’s history to life.

ICR aims to provide scientific evidence for biblical accounts through scientific research, conferences, podcasts, a bi-monthly magazine, and a faith-based science and earth history museum located at 1830 Royal Lane, Dallas.

“Science and scripture are not at odds, but there actually is alignment between the two,” marketing specialist Justin Moore said. “We're convinced that science reveals a lot about the character and creativity of God.”

One way individuals can explore the connection between faith and science is by attending ICR’s Dinosaur Week. This event is from March 11-15, and features a combination of free and ticketed events.

Visitors will be able to:
  • Experience an interactive fossil molding and casting demonstration
  • Encounter the remains of dinosaurs, mosasaurs, pterosaurs and other captivating creatures
  • Explore the Fossil Petting Zoo
  • Enjoy live presentations that explain how dinosaur fossils align with events depicted in the Bible
One aspect of the ICR Discovery Center that makes it unique is its hands-on approach. Visitors can hold and examine preserved fossils, some of which are displayed alongside microscopes for an up-close look.

“My favorite thing is that it's a very tactile experience,” Moore said.

In addition, scientists who work for ICR will give dinosaur-themed presentations at the discovery center throughout the week.

This year’s speakers include:
  • Dr. Tim Clarey, Director of Research
  • Dr. Brian Thomas, Research Scientist
  • Dr. Frank Sherwin, Science News Writer

“Regardless of your age, whether you're a young, excited kid and everything is brand new, or you're an adult who has already learned a little bit, or you’re a skeptical teenager, there's something for everybody,” Moore said.

Visitors can also enjoy ICR’s newest planetarium show: Mission Solaris. Geared toward younger audiences but engaging for all ages, the show combines stunning visuals with educational storytelling, highlighting the intricate design of the universe. Released just last year, it’s quickly become a favorite among visitors, Moore said.

Beyond Dinosaur Week, the ICR Discovery Center offers year-round educational opportunities, including field trips and the Kids on Mission online science club. The center’s field trips provide students with hands-on learning experiences in geology, biology, and astronomy, all through a biblical lens. Kids on Mission offers families and educators a faith-based STEM curriculum accessible from home or the classroom.

Whether planning a Spring Break adventure, booking an unforgettable field trip or exploring year-round educational programs, the ICR Discovery Center offers something for everyone. Find Dinosaur Week details and tickets at https://discoverycenter.icr.org/special-events#DinosaurWeek.
