Leadership Prep School to open new K-5 campus for 2025-2026 school year

Leadership Prep School to open new K-5 campus for 2025-2026 school year

Sponsored by: Leadership Prep School Frisco

Leadership Prep School, a public charter school in Frisco, will open a new kindergarten through fifth grade campus, LPS Majestic Gardens, in August.

This expansion is a response to increasing demand and will allow the school to accommodate 625 additional students. Currently, LPS serves over 1,400 students across its elementary and secondary campuses, offering a rigorous academic program with an emphasis on leadership development and character education.

“Historically, our consistently high waitlist numbers have demonstrated a strong demand for additional educational opportunities within our community,” Chief Academic Officer Audra Floyd said. “Families have long recognized the quality and excellence of Leadership Prep School, and the overwhelming interest in our programs has highlighted the need for expansion.”

A dynamic learning environment

The new campus will feature four sections of 25 students per grade level, with an expanded five sections for third grade. Floyd explained that this will result in smaller student-to-teacher ratios, promoting individualized learning.

LPS Majestic Gardens will include specialized spaces such as a fully-equipped gym, a music room and an art room, alongside a modern library that supports hands-on project-based learning opportunities.

“Our campus is not just about academics; it’s about developing well-rounded leaders who can take responsibility and make meaningful contributions to their communities,” Floyd said.

Leadership at the core

LPS is a Leader in Me school, a program based on Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” which is integrated into all levels of instruction. This framework guides students in developing essential leadership skills such as responsibility, collaboration, goal setting and decision-making.

At the new K-5 Majestic Gardens campus, these principles will be woven into daily activities, from classroom lessons to collaborative projects, ensuring students grow both academically and socially.

“LPS Majestic Gardens isn’t just a school—it’s a community where innovation, creativity, and excellence come together to prepare students for a limitless future. Here, every child is a leader, equipped to make a meaningful impact in the world,” Floyd said.

Open enrollment

Families interested in enrolling their children at LPS Majestic Gardens for the 2025-2026 school year can apply during the open enrollment period Feb. 3-6.

If more students apply than there are spots available, a lottery will be held Feb. 27 to determine placement.

“If a child is selected, LPS will send an email offering the spot. Parents will have 24 hours to accept the offer,” Floyd said. “Once the offer is accepted, we will follow up with next steps for registration in the fall, which will take place after spring break for all students.”
